“We can’t say enough about how the RBL basketball club has positively influenced our son, Keanu. From the moment he joined, we’ve watched his love for the game blossom. The coaches are incredibly dedicated, fostering not just skills but also a deep passion for basketball. Coaching philosophy is very important to us when choosing a club for our children to join, and thankfully, the coaches at RBL go above and beyond what we look for!
What makes this experience even more special for our family is that my husband also played for RBL as a child. Now, in his 30s, and loved his experience during that time. It’s heartwarming to see that same joy mirrored in Keanu.
Our younger son, August, has recently joined RBL as well, and we’re thrilled to see what the future holds for him. The club’s emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship has been invaluable. We are excited to witness both of our sons grow not just as players but as individuals who understand the true spirit of the game.

“Both of our sons have been in RBL for about four years. They have played in the RBL leagues and participated in summer and spring break camps as well as skill development programs. Their basketball skills have improved dramatically over this time. “RBL has been a staple in the development of my children’s love and appreciation for basketball. I was first introduced to RBL 10 years, when my oldest son was 4 years old and was interested in the sport. As a parent, I was thrilled to discover a well-rounded program that not only provided effective quality training, but also professional and trust-worthy coaches and staff.
My son enjoyed his basketball experience so much that we continued training with RBL for the next decade. We also enrolled my 2 youngest children in the program once they were old enough. In a way, my kids have all grown up in the RBL community.
It is evident from the start that the coaches are engaging and attentive. RBL creates opportunities to encourage and challenge kids to keep improving through targeted player development, like their weekly skills sessions, camps, high performance programs, and league games. The positive and welcoming environment is a safe space to have fun, gain confidence, and hone their skills.
Richard and Blake made sure that RBL is more than just a great basketball program. They cultivated a strong sense of integrity, generosity of spirit, love of the game, hard work, and player development. These values have shape the culture of RBL.

Since kindergarten, we’ve participated in skill sessions and camps where coaches balanced fun with age-appropriate skill development. As our kids grew, training focused more on discipline and challenging skills. Coaches offered personalized tips and encouragement to help them realize their potential. We also joined leagues from elementary to high school, emphasizing strategy and teamwork, and had many opportunities for parent involvement, leading to lasting family friendships.
RBL has a great coaching staff & philosophy and our kids continue to track the progress of many of their coaches who are continuing their basketball careers, including those that coach or play professionally or icons in the local sports community.

“Our 8 year old Kaedyn has been participating in RBL skills development camps and game leagues since he was 5 years old. The diverse and inclusive RBL community has enabled him to feel safe, cared-for and valued while developing skills, making new friends and having fun!
Each camp/league instills important values and develops prosocial skills such as: being respectful; building confidence; demonstrating a positive attitude; being a team player; developing a growth mindset; and the importance of measuring successes based on one’s own growth rather than by comparison with others.
The RBL coaches fully engage the young ballers with their positive energies, enthusiasm and humour, ever mindful of the players’ individual skill development needs. I often witness coaches providing one-on-one tips to players during scrimmages and league games. Kaedyn would inform us of such tips after each session, with the intent to practice them outside of camp.
As a result, he has developed a wide repertoire of offensive and defensive skills including: ball handling; dribbling with his non-dominant hand; doing jump shots, layups, chippies, 3-pointers; following through more consistently; passing to teammates; going after rebounds; staying with his check, setting up screens and raising his arms on defense.
RBL has been a transformative experience for Kaedyn. We have witnessed an increased confidence, a willingness to take more risks, a focus on shifting along his continuum of learning and a persistent love for this incredible sport. It is evident that RBL is a contributing factor to these impactful growths over the years. Thank you RBL; we are beyond grateful!”

“Going from being coached to coaching added another dimension to Jerric’s development and made him much more well rounded player and leader.“
“As a parent, we have choices. Choosing the right people to surround my kids with is truly a choice. What I wanted back when Jerric was just starting out (and to this day) was a club who will Care about his development. Enter RBL. I met Richard for the first time and really did not know what to think at first. As I got to know him more, I saw his passion through his vision of what basketball should be. I saw his passion with helping kids learn fundamentals and thriving on successes from the intensity of the training and the weekly games. It was fun to watch. After a couple years, my daughter, Mariella joined as well and that was even more fun to watch.
We started to get to know Blake as he got more involved with managing RBL. He continued the passion and drive Richard had instilled. As Jerric grew older, he was invited to start leading camps and coach younger kids. Going from being coached to coaching added another dimension to Jerric’s development and made him much more well rounded player and leader. RBL helped Jerric to where he is today and we are truly grateful for their encouragement, thoughtfulness and friendship they provided over the years. RBL is a club that will grow with your kids. “We are truly grateful to be part of the RBL community for the amount of support we receive from the game of Basketball is amazing. The coaches really give time to my kids learn the fundamentals and skills for their development to have a solid foundation in loving their game. I always leave the camp impressed on how happy each child is and how they are able to bring out the best in each one.
In addition to that , RBL has taught my kids to come to the court with the mindset that they are ready to work, give themselves to the team and listen to what is needed to become better while having fun! This also translates to what they can apply in their lives. They know it is not always about winning games and getting the most points but the attitude to be the best they can be as a player, teammate and leader.
RBL is more than just basketball for my kids, it has helped me teach my kids life skills.
